Many of our home health aides and nurses speak languages other than English such as Spanish, Russian, Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese and other dialects) French, Creole, Hindi, Punjabi, etc.

The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) is a great program which allows Medicaid consumers to choose their own caregivers.Which means consumer has more control over who provides their care and how it is provided. This program is also great for a caregiver to earn extra income. If you are not enrolled in Medicaid yet, no worries our agency helps consumers with applying for Medicaid and all other necessary stages to enroll in CDPAP. CDPAP Eligibility requirements:
1. You must have Medicaid.
2. You must require home care for at least 120 days a year.
3. You must be self-directing, or you must have a representative that can direct your care.

HOME HEALTH AIDE
1st Choice Home Care Services, Inc.’s Home Health Aides are available to help clients who are disabled, chronically ill, or cognitively impaired, as well as individuals who may need assistance with activities of daily living. Home Health Aides perform simple procedures as an extension of therapy services, while eliminating the necessity for the patient to move out of their own home into an assisted living or nursing home facility.
PERSONAL CARE AIDE
At 1st Choice Home Care Services, Inc. we understand that your loved one did not plan to need in-home care services and/or help with personal care. We understand that it can be frustrating and, at times, embarrassing. Our licensed caregivers will treat your loved one with respect and dignity while assisting with such tasks as bathing, grooming, dressing, feeding, etc.
Physical Therapists specialize in rehabilitation techniques that promote safe and independent motor skills, from rolling over in bed to walking to the bathroom and beyond. Physical Therapist consults with patients to learn about their physical condition, develop a treatment plan based on their needs, and teach patients how to properly use exercise techniques. Physical Therapists provide stimulation or massage, and use equipment and devices to assist patients.
PERSONAL ASSISTANCE (CDPAP)
The Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) allows Medicaid consumers to choose their own caregivers and have more control over who provides care, and how care is provided. This program is great for a caregiver to earn extra income. CDPAP permits parents of adult children (21 years of age or older) be hired to work as a Personal Assistant. This means that an adult who is not legally responsible for the eligible individual’s care may become a Personal Assistant for that eligible individual. Parents of children who are younger than 21 cannot be hired as that minor’s Personal Assistants. Consistent with current regulations, spouses and designated representatives also cannot be hired as CDPAP assistants. Any other adult relative of the CDPAP eligible individual may serve as a Personal Assistant, even if the patient and the assistant live in the same household. In all cases, the CDPAP authorization is based on the eligible individual’s assessed needs.
Speech Therapist will perform the assessment and evaluation of patient care needs related to treating speech and language disorders, and functional training in communication, swallowing, and cognitive impairments. Speech Therapist develops a plan of care in accordance with the authorized practitioner’s medical orders for therapy services, provides rehabilitation services for speech and language disorders.
MEDICAL SOCIAL WORKER
Medical Social Worker interviews patients and their families and coordinates plans, programs and activities to meet their social and emotional needs. Medical Social Worker provides crisis intervention and assists families in understanding implications and complexities of the medical situation and impact on lifestyle.
Nutritionist/ Dietitian performs assessment and evaluation of the patient’s nutritional status, makes recommendations for alterations in the dietary regimen according to the practitioner’s prescribed diet, and conducts assessment of response to medication s and treatments.
PRIVATE PAY SERVICES
1st Choice Home Care Services, Inc. specializes in tailoring a custom program to meet the exact needs of your loved one. We are the licensed and insured agency with trained and professional caregivers. You can be rest assured that if your loved one’s circumstances may change, we will adjust immediately to address any new needs. Services range from 24-hour live-in care to daily or part-time needs (even occasional services).
Occupational Therapists specialize in rehabilitation techniques that promote the return to activities of daily living (ADLs). What exactly are ADLs? Think about everything you do in the course of a day, starting with getting out of bed. THOSE are ADLs. From getting out of bed in the morning to getting back in bed in the evening and everything in between.
